Filmed live at the original cabin in Dawson City, Yukon. Starring award winning actor and “The Bard Of The Yukon” Tom Byrne

Welcome!

Robert Service’s famous poems; The Cremation of Sam McGee, The shooting of Dan McGrew, The Spell of the Yukon and many more are brought to life by Tom Byrne, world celebrated storyteller. Tom is also known as ‘The Bard of the Yukon’ and has lived and performed in Dawson City (in the Yukon Territory of Northern Canada) for over thirty years. Service wrote most of his poems in Dawson City, so it is only appropriate that Byrne performs in this city year after year.

Service’s poems depict the lives, trials and tribulations of the pioneers during the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon.

The following are a few examples of the unique and descriptive writing of Robert Service.

“There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold, and the Arctic nights have seen queer sites that would make your blood run cold.” from The Cremation of Sam McGee

“I came for the gold and I sought it. I scrabbled and I mucked like a slave. Was it scurvy or famine, I fought it. I hurled my youth into the grave” An excerpt from The Spell of The Yukon

Now you can listen and watch as Tom Byrne brings these stories to life.

His readings are available in CD, DVD, vide, cassette, and as an audio file.
